This is a Some years ago I was looking for some small, cheap, easy to use Personal Organizer. And, it MUST had to have PC link for backup purposes!!! Up to that time I've been using two credit card sized organizers with 8 Kb capacity one ofter the other. They stored about 150 addresses. But, they didn't have any backup possibility, nor any backup battery for internal memory chip. So, when it came to battery change, all my data were lost! Also, credit card size (although extravagant) proved to be simply too small - I've used to carry it everywhere in my pockets or wallet sometimes seating on it, which provoked irreparable damages on the display. To make it short: when I found CASIO SF-Series I was more than happy. But it proved somewhat difficult to find the PC cable for it here in Germany. Finaly, after speaking over telephone with CASIO Germany, I found it, but the price was horrible: I payed for this cable more than for CASIO itself! Also I became only a piece of DOS software... |
So, I disassembled that cable and found out that I can make it myself also (electronic is my hobby for some 20 years now). One friend of mine (CASIO 9000 user) proved that my cable functions. Suddenly, a number of other CASIO users wanted to try my cable. That was OK, but I haven't had a software. This problem was solved after a couple of surf-hours on Internet, where I found Ian Laverty and his excellent CASIF/Win (actualy Freeware at that time...).
